Victoria's story

“Our team is a positive influencer of change, and we are proud of our achievements in pushing quality and standards across localities.”

“I have been with Buckinghamshire Council since January 2023. I’m a Strategic Lead for Workforce Development in our Adults and Health service, and I have 30 years’ experience in managing care homes, leading on quality assurance, and statutory compliance.

My team lead on the training and career development for all colleagues working within adult social care. This includes (but is not exclusively) social workers, occupational therapists, short breaks services staff, as well as staff working for the home independence team. We also offer and support our colleagues with advanced qualifications every year, working closely with our academic partners at Bucks New Uni and Bucks College Group. We launched our training offer to our private and voluntary partner organisations this year in June and have had a huge uptake on this; ensuring that our care homes and care agencies across the county have well-trained and informed staff to provide the best care and support possible to the people of Buckinghamshire.

Our team is a positive influencer of change, and we are proud of our achievements in pushing quality and standards across localities.

By providing robust and consistent training programs, we demonstrate that we value and enable them to deliver excellent support to residents all year round. As a strategic lead, I participate in practice and quality meetings to identify areas for improvement. Buckinghamshire has a real focus on nurturing colleagues, and a corporate drive to best support managers and leaders to develop and maintain their staff and teams in the most positive way possible.”
