Quality and Contracts Support Officer
Location: Aylesbury
Overview
Are you passionate about improving services and making a meaningful impact in your community? We're looking for a proactive and organised Quality and Contracts Support Officer to join our Commissioning and Procurement team, helping to ensure high-quality services are delivered for local residents.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across a wide range of projects, contracts and service areas, supporting the commissioning, quality assurance and monitoring of services that contribute to better outcomes for people across Buckinghamshire.
About us
Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation that combines the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses. We are firmly focused on the future and have made a clear commitment to serve residents better and to provide stronger representation for Buckinghamshire, both locally and nationally.
About the role
As a Quality and Contracts Support Officer, you'll play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality health and social care services. Working closely with providers, colleagues and partners, you'll help monitor contract performance, gather and analyse information, support quality assurance activities and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
No two days are the same in this varied role. One day you could be coordinating contract monitoring activity, analysing service data and customer feedback, and the next you could be supporting quality audits, helping to resolve service issues, or contributing to larger commissioning and improvement projects. You'll also provide valuable administrative and project support across the team, helping to ensure services remain effective, efficient and focused on delivering positive outcomes for residents.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting quality assurance and contract monitoring activities across a range of services.
- Analysing data, performance information and customer feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Building positive relationships with providers, colleagues and partner organisations.
- Assisting with audits, meetings, invoicing processes and project delivery activities.
For a full list of responsibilities and duties, please refer to the Job Description.
Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need a desk, screen a keyboard to get your job done. You’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
About you
We're looking for someone who is organised, analytical and passionate about delivering high-quality services. You'll be a strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others, while also having the confidence and initiative to manage your own workload and solve problems when they arise. You will have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to interpret information and present it clearly to a wide range of audiences.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a role where deadlines, service standards and priorities need to be carefully managed. Experience of working with data, management information systems, contract monitoring, quality assurance or service evaluation activities would be highly beneficial, particularly within a health, social care or public sector environment. Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint, are essential.
You'll also bring:
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Confidence building relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Good literacy, numeracy and report-writing skills.
- Educated to A Level, NVQ3, HNC standard or equivalent. Most importantly, you'll share our values of being Proud, Ambitious, Collaborative and Trustworthy, demonstrating a commitment to delivering excellent services and continuously improving outcomes for local communities.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to build your experience within commissioning, quality assurance and contract management while making a genuine difference to the lives of residents. You'll work with a supportive team, gain exposure to a wide range of projects and stakeholders, and play a key role in helping shape and improve vital services across the county.
