You'll work on a diverse portfolio of projects, from residential developments and commercial schemes through to complex and high-profile projects, giving you the variety and professional challenge that many Building Control professionals seek. As a trusted technical expert, you'll build strong relationships with developers, architects, contractors and fellow professionals, providing practical advice and guidance throughout the construction process.

Beyond traditional Building Control activities, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the evolving regulatory landscape, including supporting the Building Safety Regulator through participation in Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs). Working within a supportive, highly experienced team, you'll have the autonomy to make informed professional decisions while benefiting from collaboration, knowledge sharing and ongoing development opportunities.

In this role, you will:

  • Investigate unauthorised building works and determine appropriate action where required.
  • Represent and promote Buckinghamshire Council's Building Control Service, building strong professional relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Building Control and the wider Council to support the delivery of high-quality services and development across the county.

Whether you're motivated by professional challenge, complex projects, career progression or the opportunity to help shape the future of Building Control, this role offers the scale, variety and support to take your career to the next level.
