About the role
About the Role:
- As our Safeguarding Governor, you will
- Be committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of children, equality, inclusion and diversity
- Act as the link between the governing body and the school's safeguarding work
- Provide strategic oversight and constructive challenge
- Ensure safeguarding remains a priority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meeting termly with the Designated Safeguarding Leads
- Monitor the effectiveness of safeguarding policies and procedures
- Report safeguarding updates to the governing board
- Ensure safer recruitment practices are followed
- Review data, trends, audits and action plans
- Visit the schools to understand the context and the safeguarding culture and practice
- Support the governors to fulfil their statutory safeguarding responsibilities
- Ensure pupil voice

About you
The applicant should be willing to learn and develop in the role.
Experience in education, safeguarding, social care, or governance is helpful but not essential.
