Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone inspirational, dedicated and motivated to become our new SENDCo here at Haddenham Community Junior School. We are seeking a suitably experienced and positive-minded person to join our team.
As SENDCo you will, in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, play a pivotal role in school improvement and in making a real difference to the lives of some of our most vulnerable pupils. You will help determine the strategic development of the SEND policy and provision within our school, raising the achievement of children with SEND and taking day-to-day responsibility for the operation of SEND and related policies.
You will help to raise standards of attainment and achievement for pupils with SEND across all year groups.
Term time only: Yes
Salary type: MPS/UPS
Salary Details: £32,916 - £51,048 per anum pro rata plus SEN allowance £2,787 per annum pro rata
Contract type: Fixed Term
Hours: Part-time

About the role
There is no regular class-based teaching commitment attached to this role, although we are looking to recruit an experienced primary practitioner who can support classes, intervention groups and individual pupils as and when required.

About you
We are looking for:
- A qualified teacher with either the Postgraduate NASENCO Award / NPQ for SENCOs, or willingness to undertake the qualification.
- Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs
- A strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
- Support for the aims and values of our Community School
- Evidence of a clear vision for the future development of SEND provision, teaching and learning within the school
- An excellent role model for pupils and staff
- The ability to work with pupils with a wide range of abilities and needs, including SEND, LAC, Pupil Premium, EAL and G&T
- Experience of supporting the performance of others and leading a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, resilience and strategic thinking
