Our work focuses on supporting children and young people aged 11–19 with communication and interaction needs, including speech, language and communication needs, autistic spectrum disorder and moderate learning difficulties. Pebble Brook School is a secondary special school for approximately 182 pupils with a range of moderate learning difficulties. Located on an attractive site in the centre of Aylesbury, the school is maintained by Buckinghamshire Local Authority. Our pupils come from across the county, joining us from both mainstream and primary special schools, bringing with them a wide range of experiences, strengths and needs.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support our students with a range of additional needs. Pebble Brook provides you the opportunity to work with specialist teachers who will mentor you to support the needs of our students with their education in preparation for adulthood.

About you
Experience of working with children is required.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with adults, children and young people, and who communicates clearly and confidently.
Good literacy and numeracy skills are important, along with clear spoken and written English.
A positive, practical approach to using ICT to support learning is also essential.
