About the role
As a Teacher in the Communication and Interaction Unit you will:
- Take strategic responsibility for the unit's development and day-to-day operations
- Coordinate and deliver targeted provision to meet pupils' individual needs
- Provide professional guidance to colleagues in the unit team
- Be a key point of contact for external agencies and the local authority, and contribute to EHC planning and review
- Analyse assessment information and use it to refine provision and intervention
- Promote a nurturing culture that supports pupils with communication and interaction needs to thrive academically and socially
- This is a full-time, permanent post paid on the Main Pay Scale plus an SEN point.

About you
We are looking for a teacher who will lead with compassion, expertise and ambition. You will:
- Be a qualified teacher with at least two years' teaching experience and demonstrable experience of supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs
- Have strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and effective intervention strategies for communication and interaction needs
- Be able to plan, sequence and adapt a specialist curriculum that meets pupils' individual pathways
- Communicate clearly and build strong working relationships with pupils, families and a range of professionals
- Be flexible, resilient and practical — able to respond to emerging needs and prioritise effectively
