Long Crendon is a friendly, happy, vibrant school which seeks to inspire all children.

We enjoy learning outside the classroom in our extensive grounds with facilities which include Forest School, a swimming pool and sports pitches.

We are looking for a School Business Manager to join our friendly team.

The applicant should be willing to lead the small administrative team and manage the business elements of the school.

Salary: BP Range 4-5 £30,361-£35,725 pro rata depending on experience (£15.74-£18.52 per hour)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Part Time – 4 days a week from September 2026 to include Friday, To start 1 day a week from June 2026 to allow for a handover 

Closing date: Noon on 17th April 2026

Interviews: to take place weeks commencing 27th April and 4th May.

About the role

Responsible for managing the strategy and operation of the business functions of the school, including financial management, health and safety, human resources, compliance and administration, under the direction of the headteacher and alongside the senior leadership team.

To advise on and implement the day-to-day support that enables the school to operate effectively and efficiently, and that allows members of the leadership team to focus on teaching and learning.

The School Business Manager works from a dedicated office sparce at the heart of the school, near the SLT and School Receptionist/Administrator offices.

About you

You will be a flexible and innovative person preferably with experience in a school business manager role.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Expert knowledge of financial management
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Previous use of SIMS/FMS preferred
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with staff and other stakeholders
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Willing to live by and model our Values
  • Willing to take part in the wider life of the school
  • Understanding of data protection and confidentiality
