About the role
The Buckingham School is seeking to appoint a friendly, organised and proactive Admissions and Transition Co-ordinator to join our dedicated and supportive school. You will have the ability to work independently and as part of an amazing team - both are essential! In addition, you will be required to professionally communicate and consult with Local Authorities, networking schools, agencies and parents /guardians, whilst warmly welcoming prospective families into our community and guiding them through each step of the transition process.
This is an exciting and varied role, and whilst academic achievement lies at the heart of what the school does, we never forget the importance of fostering our Virtues in our students and ensuring Success for All.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Oversee the admissions arrangements of the school, both for each new year academic year and for mid year joiners
- Arrange and facilitate school tours as required
- Proactively obtain key information from new students and communicate to relevant stakeholders, ensuring student records are maintained in line with policy
- Contribute as a key player to the Transition Team, working closely with SEN, Head of Year, Student First Team & Marketing / Communications
- Represent the school at internal and external admission / transition events as required and running and supporting Open Morning / Open Evening events
- Build positive relationships with all stakeholders
- LiaIse with the the Data Manager to facilitate systems for pupils leaving the school
Key Skills Required
- Excellent administration skills, including the use of IT Systems
- Confident and friendly telephone manner
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to problem solve and use own initiative – can do approach
- Excellent personal appearance
