Food Technician - The Grange School

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Food Technician to join our Design & Technology team. You will play a vital role in supporting the teaching of Food Technology by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring health and safety standards are met.

Salary: Bucks Pay Range 2 – £22,2274 to 24,139 Approximately

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week. Monday – Friday, term time only plus 2 weeks (1 week inset and 1 week deep clean e.g. 40 weeks per year)

Monday-Thursday 8:00 to 4:00 pm, Friday 8:30 to 4:00 pm

Closing date: Friday 23 January 2026

About the role

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain food areas, equipment, and materials for lessons
• Assist teachers and students during practical sessions, ensuring safe working practices
• Manage stock levels, order supplies, and shop for ingredients when required
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, including deep cleaning when necessary
• Support health and safety compliance and complete relevant checks and records

About you

What We are Looking For:

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Confidence using ICT and maintaining accurate records
• A calm, flexible approach and willingness to learn
• Food Hygiene & Safety certificate (or willingness to complete)
