Chiltern Wood School is a Special School currently supporting over 200 students ranging from ages 3 to 19 years. We are currently based over three sites – Cressex, Downley and Studley Green.

About the role
We are currently recruiting a Caretaker to join our site team. The role will predominantly be based at the Cressex site but the successful candidate will be flexible with supporting the other sites as and when required, therefore a valid driving licence and transportation is essential for this role.
The primary purpose of this post is to carry out a range of duties which contribute to the maintenance, repair and security of the school’s buildings and facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the school premises are kept clean, tidy and in a presentable condition at all times and that it provides a safe and secure environment for pupils, staff, parents and visitors.
It is envisaged that the hours of work will be between the hours of 10:30am – 6:30pm during term time and 8:00am – 4:00pm during school holiday periods – though there may be a level of flexibility regarding this for the right candidate.
About you
- Be aware of and comply with all school policies and procedures including those relating to child protection, health & safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
- Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
- Establish constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies/professionals.
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings.
- Participate in training, performance management and other learning activities as required.
- Recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others.
