Private Rental Officer

Overview

Are you passionate about making a difference in the housing sector? We are looking for two dedicated Private Rental Officers to join our team within the newly restructured housing service. One of the roles is a fixed-term role focusing on supporting households on the Homes for Ukraine scheme.

In this role, you will provide expert advice and support to customers in relation to the Council's private rental scheme, Bucks Let. You will work closely with reputable landlords to acquire good quality, affordable properties and support residents into housing. Your responsibilities will include signposting to homelessness teams, facilitating social housing applications, managing temporary accommodation, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and legal standards.

As a Private Rental Officer, you will play a crucial role in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service to a diverse client group, including landlords and vulnerable households. You will need to be financially astute, commercially minded, and capable of negotiating with private sector landlords to secure new homes for residents in need. Knowledge of the Renters Rights Bill is essential in this role.

Your role will also involve collaborating with various internal teams to maintain standards, prevent evictions, and support residents in sustaining their tenancies. About the role

Any-Desk:

As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

About the Business Unit

Our Planning, Growth and Sustainability directorate works with partners to help shape the future of Buckinghamshire.  We deliver services on planning, economic growth, regeneration, strategic infrastructure, transport and property.

 Our key priorities include developing the economic narrative for Bucks, creating more jobs and delivering the right infrastructure to help businesses and residents thrive.
