About the role

As a Midday Supervisor at Little Forest Friends, you will be part of a friendly team ensuring lunchtimes run smoothly and safely for our children. Your role will include supervising children while they eat and play, encouraging positive behaviour, and supporting them to enjoy a happy, healthy break.

You will help with setting up and clearing away lunchtime areas, promoting healthy eating, and making sure the environment is kept clean and safe. Midday Supervisors also play an important role in encouraging play, organising activities, and helping children to build friendships.

A key part of the role is safeguarding: you’ll be responsible for keeping children safe, responding calmly to any incidents, and reporting concerns in line with school procedures. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the children’s day, while working as part of a supportive and caring school community.

About you

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children and can bring warmth, patience and reliability to the role. Previous experience of working with children or in a team setting is desirable but not essential, and first aid training would be an advantage (although full training can be provided). The successful candidate will be confident communicating with both children and adults, able to use their initiative, and respond calmly and effectively in a busy lunchtime environment. A positive, fair approach to supporting behaviour, along with a commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and the values of our school, are essential.

For further information please see attached Job description & Person specification.

All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check, online checks, and satisfactory references in line with our safer recruitment policy.

We are proud to be an inclusive school and actively welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences. We value the unique contribution that each individual brings to our school community.
