Chiltern Wood School is a Special School currently supporting over 200 students ranging from ages 3 to 19 years, located across three sites in Cressex, Studley Green and Downley. About the role

We have an opportunity for a class teacher to work in our secondary department for pupils with complex learning, social and sensory needs.

The successful candidate will have a strong desire to work with pupils with high needs, that are also extremely rewarding. They will have an understanding of how to build positive relationships with pupils, their families and supporting professionals. Our secondary departments have a strong emphasis on “learning for life” and preparing the children for early adulthood. Communication, regulation and life skills are at the core of our curriculum.

About you

We are currently recruiting Class Teachers (permanent or temporary contracts considered) to support both primary and secondary pupils with complex needs at our Cressex site.

Primary Teacher - working within our primary department at our Cressex Site for pupils with complex learning, social and sensory needs including autism. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to work with pupils with high needs, that are also extremely rewarding. They will have an understanding of how to build positive relationships with pupils, their families and supporting professionals. Our primary departments have a strong emphasis on early years style child-led learning. A large proportion of learning is dedicated to building joint attention, as well as building communication skills, regulation and life skills.

Secondary Teacher - working with children with severe and complex learning difficulties, including those with Autism Spectrum Condition. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to work with pupils with high needs, that are also extremely rewarding. They will have an understanding of how to build positive relationships with pupils, their families and supporting professionals. Our secondary departments have a strong emphasis on “learning for life” and preparing the children for early adulthood. Communication, regulation and life skills are at the core of our curriculum.
