About the role

Responsible for the following tasks:

FINANCE TASKS

Data entry and processing with SAGE 200, Toucan Tech and Parentmail accounting software systems.
Purchase Order and Invoice processing.
Bank Reconciliations including Payment & Receipt processing on accounting system
Control of Aged Debtors & Creditors including raising Sales invoices, chasing debtors and account resolutions
Cash handling, including income holding and cash received for school activities or donations and making appropriate entries in the accounts.
Reconciling corporate purchasing cards including all accounting entries as required.
Student purchases including Curriculum, Bursary & PP.
Management and population of the school Donations software including reconciliation to bank income, gift aid and communication with donors and potential donors
School Fund accounts including populating the Sage accounting software.
Printing Journals
Assisting the Finance Officer in period end checks, reconciliation and preparation of End of Year Accounts.
Answering budget queries from budget managers.

ADMINISTRATION TASKS

Receiving and dealing with or passing on (as appropriate) finance office queries from parents and external organisations.
Management of student locker allocations
CPD administration including booking courses and budget tracking
General administration tasks or other finance responsibilities within the finance office as directed by the Finance Manager.
Provide general assistance and reception cover in the front office during school holidays as directed by the CFO.

GENERAL

Correspond with suppliers, banks, parents and other contacts of the school as appropriate
Maintain and develop spreadsheets as required to support the efficient completion of other tasks.
Be familiar with relevant modules of SIMS to facilitate the extraction and utilisation of data for other tasks.
Assist with audits as required.
Work with other members of the Finance Team to contribute to the school improvement process.

About you

Essential Qualities:

GCSE at A* to C grade, or equivalent, in Maths and English Language.
Ability to work mainly to defined procedures, maintaining accuracy and being meticulous, but will on occasion need to be creative in developing solutions.
Ability to work consistently despite some interruptions.
Good communication skills
Trustworthy, reliable and responsible - the role will involve school purchasing and handling cash.
Good working knowledge of Google Suite including email, sheets & docs

Desirable:

Appropriate accountancy qualification or en route to one (AAT)
Experience with accounting software, preferably SAGE 200
Experience in a finance or school administration role.
