About us

The SAP Technical Team is part of the ICT Service. The SAP system is Buckinghamshire Council’s integrated corporate system for Finance, HR, Payroll and Procurement (purchasing & invoicing). The SAP Solution is used by over 4500 users in the Council as well as 200 schools throughout the County.

The SAP Technical Team works alongside other Corporate Applications and Integration Teams to support the organisation’s core systems. The SAP Team’s core focus is to ensure the day to day smooth operation of the whole SAP Landscape. We have a small but dedicated team of 5 Analyst’s, the SAP Landscape consists of about 25 applications and 30 interfaces, with continual changes due to a focus on process improvement, application consolidation and application maintenance.

About the role

In this role you will be an integral part of the SAP Technical Team, providing support for key SAP applications. There are over 40 virtual servers hosted in Azure, which supports a variety of SAP technologies such as ERP/SRM/PI/BI/Solution Manager, Portal and Fiori Technologies.  The system is also closely integrated with a number of other IT systems using Business Connector.

You will maintain the SAP platform to ensure that the applications and database are maintained at the appropriate release levels, this is achieved through installing, patching and upgrading systems as required.  You will also provide Level 3 support to end users and carry out  supporting tasks including maintenance of user guides and communication with end-users. You will also have the responsibility of system monitoring to ensure the smooth operation of the SAP systems in line with BCC ITIL processes.

This is a career graded post with the opportunity to progress as you gain more knowledge and experience.

Any-Desk:

As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements*.

About you

With relevant practical experience, you will have excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to explain technical information in a way which non-specialist users can understand.

You will possess excellent ICT skills with excellent attention to detail.
