Weekend Library Services Officer - Beaconsfield Library

Overview

Buckinghamshire Libraries are looking for a Library Services Officer (weekend) to join our friendly team in the Beaconsfield and Hazlemere group based mainly in Beaconsfield Library. We are seeking people who share our focus on customer service and who would enjoy engaging people with services that can enrich their lives.

About the role

Here at Buckinghamshire Council we currently have an exciting opportunity at Beaconsfield Library for a Weekend Library Services Officer who will be responsible for the efficient provision of a customer-focused library service.

This is a part-time role of 5 hours per week as follows:

Saturdays: 10.00 – 16:00

The starting salary is £24,359 pro rata for 5 hours per week.

This role is offered on a fixed term contract until June 2025.

Fixed

As a ‘fixed’ worker, you’ll spend most of your time in the same location, which will likely be a fixed office or location where your role is performed. Typically, you’ll be based in the same location as the rest of your team, because you provide a particular service from that fixed location or need access to information there.

If you're brilliant at helping customers with enquiries, with skills to promote and help access to digital services, and you’re keen to develop the library as a community hub with access to information, then we want to hear from you.

Other information

Although the role is mainly based at Beaconsfield Library, there may be times when you are required to work at other Library Branches in the area, such as Hazlemere.

About the Business Unit

Our Communities directorate works across the county to deliver a number of the key customer-facing services that our residents, businesses and visitors rely on every day.

• ensuring the delivery of school transport, and supporting sustainable travel including public bus services and School Crossing Patrollers
