Overview

We’re looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic individual with a good attention for detail to join our Reception team at Furze Down School. You will combine work-based training along with achieving an Intermediate qualification in Customer Service Level 2.
As an apprentice, you’ll work at School and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff

Alongside your study you will be undertaking the range of duties listed under Main Responsibilities

Salary Type: Apprentice wage

Salary details: £6.40 per hour

Contract type: Apprentice

Hours: Term Time only (45 weeks), 37 hours per week (8.00-16.00 or 08.30-16.30)

About the role

Main Responsibilities

• Maintain a secure, welcoming and purposeful environment which reflects the school`s ethos, visions and values.
• Manage the school’s switchboard, responding to internal and external telephone calls in a prompt manner, assisting callers with requests and enquiries and directing and filtering calls appropriately.
• To administer, without exception, the school’s signing in and out procedures and the school’s management of visitor protocols
• Maintain Inventry signing in system.
• Welcome and greet visitors in a professional, friendly and courteous manner
• Establish professional relationships with regular visitors, professionals and parents/carers
• In line with Safeguarding procedures, follow visitor protocols at all times
• Maintain the school diary, ensuring room bookings have been made and visitor protocols followed
• To be aware of the sensitive nature of information gathered during the course of duties and to maintain confidentiality at all times
• To maintain pupil attendance records
• To follow the school policy on Equal Opportunities
