About us

At the Buckinghamshire Primary Pupil Referral Unit we provide support for children experiencing significant social, emotional or behavioural difficulties in their mainstream primary school. Children may be supported by outreach or by attendance at one of our units. We serve all maintained primary schools in Buckinghamshire.

You will find more information about what we do and who we support on our website www.bucksprimarypru.co.uk.

About the role

It is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the different provisions offered by the PRU and will give you a chance to develop and consolidate excellent behaviour management skills whilst also bringing in your academic teaching experience. Life is never boring at a PRU; each day brings different challenges and that is why it is so rewarding to work here.

You will receive training and support from our friendly team to enable you to be successful. Once fully trained, you will have opportunities to work with colleagues in mainstream schools as part of our outreach service

About you

Do you have the ambition and determination to make a difference to children who find it difficult to cope in school? We want someone who is innovative, enthusiastic and able to instil a life-long love of learning into our pupils. You will need to be well-organised, have a proven track record as a successful teacher and have strong behaviour management practice.

Our pupils enjoy working with staff who take the time to get to know them individually, challenge them academically, support them with their emotional wellbeing and provide them with opportunities to shine. Take a look at the job description and the person specification and see if you are up to the challenge!
