About the role

Working as a Teaching Assistant may be the role for you! We can offer a high degree of flexibility around days and hours, working term-time only. This is fulfilling work where you get to make a very real difference to the life chances of individual students. We are seeking individuals to join our committed team of Teaching Assistants to help our young people realise their potential.

You will be part of our specialist SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) team, which is dedicated to delivering the correct support to individual students. SEND students are at the heart of our academy and this role is integral to helping some of our most vulnerable students to succeed. This could be support in lessons or working 1:1 on targeted areas of support.

You do not need to have had any previous experience of this work - comprehensive training is provided - but the following qualities will be beneficial:
● A passion for the importance of learning
● Enthusiasm for working with young people to help them succeed
● The ability to inspire and be creative
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

About you

Your responsibilities will include:
● Working collaboratively with subject teachers to ensure students’ progress in individual subjects
● Acting as a positive role model both socially and academically
● Helping to foster and develop positive relationships with staff and peers
● Being flexible to meet the dynamic needs of the SEND department on a daily basis
● Identifying personal training needs and attending appropriate internal and external training
● Being involved in maintaining records, undertaking assessment and evaluating identified students’ needs
● Ensuring inclusive practice and equality of opportunity for all
