This is a secondment/ fixed term contract opportunity for 12 months.

Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation that combines the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses. We are a dedicated HR&OD service team committed to strategic HR delivery. Our goal is to partner with services to manage their workforce proactively and develop key people strategies that align with our People Plan. We strive for continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery.

About the role

 As an HR Business Partner, you will:

  • Provide strategic HRBP delivery, aligning the People Plan with the Directorate’s vision and strategic objectives
  • Be a key member of the HR&OD leadership team, offering insights into the Council’s pressures and priorities
  • Drive continuous improvement, adopting the AURA principles
  • Lead the development of Directorate Workforce Plans based on workforce data analysis
  • Build strong relationships with HR teams to shape, problem solve, and commission support
  • Engage with trade unions and Employee Reps to develop and maintain effective working relationships

Any-Desk:

As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

About you

We are looking for a strategic and innovative HR Business Partner who is passionate about making a difference. You will have substantial experience in managing professional HR services and a deep understanding of employment legislation and policies. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving forward continuous improvement and adopting the AURA principles of customer experience, automation, and efficient resources.

You will have good ICT skills including use of all MS Office applications. The ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.

Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Resources cover a wide range of specialisms, including Human Resources, Finance, ICT and Business Operations.
